How much does the Initiation Adventure cost?

The cost of the Initiatory Adventure is €480.
This sum covers the weekend, food, accommodation, membership and the annual subscription to the association for the current year.

We ask that you pay a deposit of €130 upon registration on this website by credit card. A few days before your Initiatory Adventure, you can pay the balance either on this website or in cash upon arrival at the venue.

It’s too expensive for me; what can I do?

We do not want participation in the weekend to result in financial discrimination. If you are hesitant to take part in a weekend for financial reasons (you are unemployed, a student, etc.), you may be eligible for a grant or payment facilities.

To apply, two months before the weekend, you must send us a detailed email (to contact@mkpbelgium.org) setting out all the information you consider relevant to explain your situation.

Once your application has been reviewed, you may be awarded a grant to cover part of the participation fees.

Each application is specific to a particular weekend, and if your registration is postponed, a new application will need to be submitted.

And if I withdraw, what happens to my deposit?

The deposit is non-refundable and will be retained by MKP-Belgium.

There are no more places available for the date I’m interested in. Do you have a waiting list?

Yes, we do have waiting lists. However, if an Initiation Adventure is shown as fully booked on the website, this means that the waiting list is also full. In that case, you will need to choose a different date.

How does the Adventure work?

The Initiatory Journey is a series of carefully coordinated activities: discussion groups, games, guided visualisations, individual work…

It is designed to help each person get in touch with their own truth – not regarding their job, their possessions or their place in life, but with everything that concerns the person themselves.

How long does the Adventure last?

It lasts less than 48 hours. The Adventure begins on site (the location will be confirmed a few weeks before the Adventure) on Friday in the late afternoon.

It ends on Sunday in the mid-afternoon (the exact times will be confirmed a few weeks before the Adventure).

Could you give me some details about this adventure?

We want your experience of the Initiatory Adventure to be shaped not by the experiences of others who have taken part in the Adventure before you. Our aim is to give you the opportunity to experience these moments one by one.

For this reason, we do not provide a detailed description or itinerary of the initiation. If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Who’s coming to this initiatory weekend?

We welcome all cis men, trans men, non-binary and intersex people, as well as anyone who has been introduced to MKP.

We welcome all men and people of all ages (aged 18 and over), of all religions, cultural backgrounds, nationalities and social circumstances, regardless of their physical ability.

Why are these men and people taking part?

Some men and people come to this transformative journey feeling that their lives are not working out, hoping to learn how to live with greater depth and fulfilment.

Others, having achieved much in life, come to discover deeper connections with others and also with themselves.

Some men and people come because they have been invited by loved ones they trust, or because they need to learn to trust. Others, finally, come to take on a new challenge: a new adventure to explore.

Most come because they want to know how to live their lives with greater richness and intensity.

Who is leading this adventure?

This initiatory journey is led by a team of men and volunteers who have been specially trained and are all members of MKP. These individuals are all passionate about the initiatory journey and introspective work. Every member of this team knows how to help others discover their shadows and confront them.

However, you will soon take charge of your own journey, accompanied by these experienced members. The decisions you make during this Adventure will enable you to lift the veil that has been covering certain obstacles or treasures buried deep within yourself.

Are you a religious group or a sect?

NO. The ManKind Project is not affiliated with any church, religion, spiritual movement or political party. One of the MKP’s missions is to create circles in which all initiated members are supported and welcomed, regardless of their religious beliefs or political views.

A cult requires its members to abandon their current lives and devote themselves to a single leader or doctrine. MKP-Belgium takes a radically different approach. Our non-profit organisation helps each of its members to find the life that suits them best and to live it to the full, with the full support of a network of other members. It welcomes the wide variety of experiences its members have had outside the MKP as a potential source of collective enrichment. Furthermore, every person is free to leave the association at any time and without conditions.

The entire association is run by volunteers and is managed in the traditional manner by its governing body in accordance with the regulations governing Belgian non-profit organisations.

Why exclude women? Are you a ‘male-centred’ group?

The original aim of MKP was to enable men to receive valuable teachings from other men, and that is how it developed.

Alongside this are Sacrée Femme (Woman Within International) and Woman in Power, two organisations in which women share their wisdom with other women, and of which MKP is an active partner.

In several of our centres, members of MKP and Sacrée Femme™ come together to explore relationships between men and women.

MKP is by no means a ‘masculinist’ group. It promotes a mature, inclusive masculinity that is connected to women, and combats all caricatures of masculinity (the ‘macho’, the ‘reactionary’…) by helping its members to fully experience their emotions, their power, their vulnerability and their inner, sacred dimension.
