------------ OUR MISSION ------------

The MKP BE community invites and supports men and people to open their hearts to authenticity and diversity by drawing inspiration from one another and engaging in meaningful dialogue.

------------ HISTORY OF THE BELGIAN COMMUNITY ------------

1995-2000Some French people cross the Channel and the Atlantic to take their first steps in learning English.
1999The French association “Homme Etc.” was founded on the initiative of a small group of French people returning from their weekend away.
September 2001The first bilingual French/English weekend organised in England, attended by fifteen French participants.
October 2002Premier week-end organisé en France.
2002 -2006The first Belgians set off for France to take part of their initiation.
And thanks to the efforts of two of them (who were part of Guy Corneau’s circles and the Nonviolent Communication community), the number of Belgians heading off for the weekend course continued to grow.
2004“Homme Etc.” becomes “MKP Europe francophone (MKP EF)”.
October 2007During an outing organised with most of the Belgian insiders of the time, five men (the G5) stepped forward with the intention of establishing a de facto Belgian association to be known as the “Circle of the 7 Directions”
2008Four initiation weekends are organised each year in France.
April 2011In line with the Belgian community’s aim to create an Initiatory Adventure that would bring together the country’s two main linguistic groups, the “Circle of the 7 Directions” is organising the first Initiatory Adventure in Belgium.
September 2015After four years, thanks to the efforts of a few Dutch and Flemish people, we have managed to gather enough participants to organise our first bilingual (French/Dutch) Initiatory Adventure in Belgium
2016Creation of the ASBL “MKP BE (ManKind Project Belgium)”
2020Four initiation weekends a year in Belgium and the first entirely Dutch-speaking Initiation Adventure
September 2024The MKP-BE General Assembly has adopted the following statement: ‘In line with its values, mission and vision, MKP-BE initiates cis men, trans men, non-binary people and intersex people, and welcomes all those who have been initiated into MKP to its activities.’

Since then, MKP-EF has become MKP France following the independence of MKP-BE.
MKP France remains the parent association of MKP-BE: it initially supported the organisation of the first Initiatory Adventures in Belgium, then enabled its members living in Belgium to become independent by facilitating the establishment of their own non-profit organisation.

MKP-BE is grateful for MKP France’s unwavering support for its development.
